It is not common to see diptychs in the work of Gloria Ferrer. In this case the painter surprises us with a satirical and colorful representation of one of the great classical themes: the origin of man.
In the role of Adam and Eve, two apes observe us amused from a paradise of tropical color, conjugating the idea of the first parents of the Biblical tradition with Darwin's theory regarding the origin of humanity.
Colors, especially living, speak of the power and diversity of nature, of which human beings are an intrinsic part. The innocence of Adam and Eve is represented by the evolutionary stage of the human being, ignoring the metaphor of original sin: There is no snake that seduces women, no woman tempts man. Our ancestors are happy, and they do not look worried about showing their bodies to the air.
